Lending a Hand...The Wakanheza Project

This program shows parents talking about the challenges of being a parent in public, and gives tips for stepping in and lending a hand when you see parents in those situations.

Lending a Hand...The Wakanheza Project, a program that Saint Paul - Ramsey County Department of Public Health produced in partnership with Twin Cities Public Television's Minnesota Channel, will air Mother's Day, Sunday, May 11th at 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 7th at 8 p.m.

Watch this program on tpt-Channel 17 on broadcast television, satellite and most cable stations; see Channel 13 on the Comcast Cable system in Minneapolis.


Experience Fairy-tale Magic at Spring Fling Celebration

Come celebrate the magic of spring at Minnesota Children’s Museum and discover a land of wonder and adventure as we bring your favorite storybooks to life. Dress as your favorite make-believe character and be among the first to experience Once Upon a Story…Exploring the World of Fairy Tales, our upcoming exhibit that brings you into enchanted worlds. Your little princes and princesses can use their imaginations to create their own magical storybook, enjoy a tasty treat and meet their favorite fairy-tale friends. 

Prepaid reservations recommended; space is limited. Cost: $8 per member and $12 per non-member. Make your reservation before May 2 and receive $2 off per person. Children younger than one are free. Call 651-225-6035 for reservations.

Pre-Party Dinner
5:15 – 6 p.m.
Enjoy sub sandwiches, veggies and lemonade before the Habitot® Spring Fling celebration begins! Prepaid reservations are required; space is limited. Cost for food option: $3.50 per child and $5.50 per adult. Children younger than one are free. Call 651-225-6004 for reservations. Note: pre-party event fills up quickly- call today to reserve your spot!


Purchase Great "Summer Reads" at our Scholastic Book Fair

Saturday, May 17
9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Museum visitors can purchase books and other interactives at the Scholastic Book Fair held in the Museum's Boardroom, located on the 2nd floor.


Celebrate Spring! Rooftop ArtPark Opening Soon...

Our popular Rooftop ArtPark will open for the season on Sunday, May 18. An exciting summer of art and nature adventures awaits Museum visitors on the fourth floor outdoor gallery that overlooks downtown St. Paul. 

Join us for special opening day activities!

12 – 1:30 p.m.

Hear a symphony of sounds from MacPhail Center for Music students. Musicians ranging from kindergarten through high school will play their favorite tunes for Museum visitors.

1:30 – 2 p.m.

Explore the instrument petting zoo. Examine flutes and recorders and try your hand at playing a sweet melody on the harp!

Discover Reading Rewards at Pearson Family Book Night

Join the Pearson Foundation for Family Book Nights at Minnesota Children’s Museum. Pearson Family Book Nights is a free, family-focused celebration that encourages families to share in the joy of reading and learn first-hand about the long-term importance active, repetitive family reading can have in their child’s development. In addition to reading and sharing books, each family is invited to create a personalized ABC book. Healthy snacks will be served and each guest is given a family gift – a classic children’s book from the Penguin Group. There is no cost, but reservations are recommended and space is limited. Get Moving at Action-Adventure Big Fun!

Beginning June 9 - August 29, 2008
Monday- Friday, 11:30 a.m.

Get your body moving and your heart pumping during Action-Adventure Big Fun!  Try out all kinds of great physical activities with guest fitness instructors Mondays – Thursdays.  On Fridays, join us for a Disco Dance Party!  Action-Adventure Big Fun! activities are designed for all ages and abilities.
