Data and Demographics Intern (PDF)

Assist with data collection and analysis of trends in attendance and sales of earned revenue programs, market research, and demographic trends of the Museum visitor. Projects will include completing an overview report of the current Museum profile and an overview of the Play for All program.

Development – Special Projects Intern (PDF)

This position will work directly with several members of the development team to help facilitate donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. The intern will gain a thorough understanding of the different areas of fundraising, from prospect research to event management, and everything in between. He/she will learn to use the Raiser’s Edge donor database and experience day-to-day operations of a nonprofit organization.

Early Childhood Programs Intern (PDF)

This position is responsible in assisting the Program Developer in assessing, prototyping, observing, and evaluating facilitated programs at the Museum. The information gathered is used to ensure program objectives and educational goals are being met.

Exhibit Fabrication Intern (PDF)

Minnesota Children’s Museum has 65,000 square-feet of gallery and programming space, filled with interactive exhibits designed to spark children’s learning through play. The Exhibit Fabrication Intern will assist exhibit production staff in the fabrication of exhibits, installation of any scheduled traveling exhibitions, and day-to-day exhibit repair and maintenance.

Fundraising Events Intern (PDF)

The intern will assist in the planning and execution of the 2016 Gala. Duties will include some light research, communication writing including e-vites, web sites and some ideas for social media, and assistance with other gala related events. The intern will gain firsthand knowledge of marketing and fundraising in a fun and fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Marketing and Advertising Intern (PDF)

Conduct web and social media analytics and assist with media trade opportunities and cross-promotions, as well as other projects alongside staff members who work in our fast-paced marketing department. Projects include creating Facebook advertisements and building an advertising schedule, creating instant user polls for MCM.org and social media channels, assisting with data collection, analytics, and results communications, and participating in market research and advertisement copy.

Membership and Sales Intern (PDF)

The intern will assist with all aspects of membership program administration including research, processing membership payments, database administration and membership sales and service. The intern will also design, complete and implement surveys of the Museum’s membership and assist with event planning and implementation.

Multimedia Documentation Intern (PDF)

Create and organize documentation of museum programs using transcription, voice recording, photography and video from our daily on-going programs to special event programing. Ideal candidates will have strong cinematography and video editing skills along with a passion for storytelling.

Museum Educator Intern (PDF)

This intern is responsible for facilitating a variety of regularly scheduled educational programs and activities for Museum visitors. Programs include art activities, sensory programs and interactive gallery activities. Four interns needed.

Museum Operations Intern (PDF)

Gain experience with the daily tasks that are essential to running a large customer service department in a non-profit organization. This may include running reports, assisting with scheduling, updating spreadsheets and documents and other administrative tasks. This position is also part of the leadership team, which includes participating in department leadership meetings and coordinating projects and information for the floor staff.

Recruitment and Onboarding Intern (PDF)

This position is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Assistant with various projects related to human resources administration, including managing the job posting process, assembling new hire employee packets, managing personnel files, and other tasks in recruitment and onboarding functions.

Social Media Intern (PDF)

This position is responsible for assisting the external relations department with social media and communications at Minnesota Children’s Museum. Responsibilities may include creating copy for an e-newsletter and other owned digital channels, assisting with the execution of a content (editorial) calendar, shooting and editing video, digital photography, and collecting analytics from owned social media channels.

Youth Development Intern (PDF)

Coach teen volunteers in their roles with young children and design activities with youth development practices in mind to help youth volunteers gain skills through their experiences at the Museum. The Youth Development Intern will provide positive guidance, discipline, and role modeling while supervising youth volunteers on the floor. One weekend shift required each week, other shifts can be scheduled at intern’s convenience.
