Data and Demographics Intern (PDF)
Assist with data collection and analysis of trends in attendance and sales of earned revenue programs, market research, and demographic trends of the Museum visitor. Projects will include completing an overview report of the current Museum profile and an overview of the Play for All program.

Development – Special Projects Intern (PDF)
This position will work directly with several members of the development team to help facilitate donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. The intern will gain a thorough understanding of the different areas of fundraising, from prospect research to event management, and everything in between. He/she will learn to use the Raiser’s Edge donor database and experience day-to-day operations of a nonprofit organization.

Digital Communications Intern (PDF)
This position is responsible for assisting the external relations department with social media and
communications at Minnesota Children’s Museum. Responsibilities may include creating copy for an enewsletter
and other owned digital channels, assisting with the execution of a content (editorial) calendar,
shooting and editing video, digital photography, and collecting analytics from owned social media channels.
This position works in partnership with the Digital Media interns. 2-3 interns needed.

Digital Media Intern (PDF)
This position is responsible for capturing a wide range of museum experiences, from experiences in the
galleries and traveling exhibits to daily on-going programs to special events. The intern will utilize a variety
of mediums including written documentation, photography, sound and video. Ideal candidates will have
strong cinematography and video editing skills along with a passion for storytelling. This position works in
partnership with the Digital Communications interns. 1-2 interns needed.

Early Childhood Programs Intern (PDF)
This position is responsible in assisting the Program Developer in assessing, prototyping, observing, and evaluating facilitated programs at the Museum. The information gathered is used to ensure program objectives and educational goals are being met.

HR Intern (PDF)
This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources and Human Resources Assistant with various projects related to human resources administration, including managing the job posting process, assembling new hire employee packets, managing personnel files, and assisting HR staff with initiatives.

HR Project Intern (PDF)
This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources with the implementation of Minnesota Children’s Museum new HRIS system, Paylocity. The intern will learn HRIS modules in-depth, such as onboarding/offboarding, benefits and the applicant tracking system. The intern will also gain and expand their skills in process documentation and process implementation.

Marketing and Promotions Intern (PDF)
The interns will be responsible for assisting the external relations department with marketing and promotional efforts Minnesota Children’s Museum. Responsibilities may include creating promotional copy for upcoming exhibits and programs, producing marketing plans, measuring advertising campaigns and coordinating partnerships to increase the number of general visitors to the Museum. 2-3 interns needed.

Museum Educator Intern (PDF)
This intern is responsible for facilitating a variety of regularly scheduled educational programs and activities for Museum visitors. Programs include art activities, sensory programs and interactive gallery activities. Four interns needed.

Museum Operations Intern (PDF)
Gain experience with the daily tasks that are essential to running a large customer service department in a non-profit organization. This may include running reports, assisting with scheduling, updating spreadsheets and documents and other administrative tasks. This position is also part of the leadership team, which includes participating in department leadership meetings and coordinating projects and information for the floor staff.

Museum Programs Coordination Intern (PDF)
Assist with scheduling, take inventory and order supplies, collect and calculate program data, assist with program-related communications, coordinate logistics for special programs and activities and special projects to improve department processes.

Research Intern – Traveling Exhibits (PDF)
This position is responsible for assisting the traveling exhibits department with various tasks related to research and customer relations. The intern will communicate with potential museum clients, collect customer feedback, and research incoming exhibit options. This position does not travel but supports the work of our traveling exhibit rental business.
