Data and Demographics Intern (PDF)
Assist with data collection and analysis of trends in attendance and sales of earned revenue programs, market research, and demographic trends of the Museum visitor. Projects will include maintaining average museum visitor profiles by program and aiding in tracking and maintaining data on membership in preparation for the newly renovated museum.

Exhibit Fabrication Intern (PDF)
Minnesota Children’s Museum is currently under expansion for a brand new museum. We are expanding our space by 30% and will gain at least 3 more permanent exhibits. The Exhibit Fabrication Intern will assist exhibit production staff in the fabrication of exhibits, installation of exhibitions, and exhibit repair and maintenance. Interns will be given the opportunity to exercise and strengthen their existing skills, to develop new skills of exhibit-making, and to exercise responsibility, creativity and imagination.

Fundraising Events Intern (PDF)
The intern will assist in the planning and execution of the 2017 Grand Opening Week and the annual Gala. Duties will include some light research, communication writing including e-vites, web sites and some ideas for social media, and assistance with other gala related events. The intern will gain firsthand knowledge of marketing and fundraising in a fun and fast-paced nonprofit environment.

Integrated Communications Intern (PDF)
This position is responsible for assisting the external relations department with social media and communications at Minnesota Children’s Museum. Responsibilities may include creating copy for an e-newsletter and other owned digital channels and assisting with the execution of a content (editorial) calendar. The intern will also conducting market research and analysis, assisting with promotional and sales opportunities, and assisting with marketing plans. 1-2 interns needed.

Integrated Marketing Communications Intern: Video (PDF)
This position is responsible for assisting the external relations department with video content creation for social media and communications. Responsibilities may include producing web video for the museum’s blog, an e-newsletter and other owned digital channels and assisting with the execution of a content (editorial) calendar. This includes shooting and editing video and conceiving video stories that support the #PlayMoreMN movement and/or digital photography. 1-2 interns needed.

Membership and Sales Intern (PDF)
This position is responsible for assisting the Membership and Sales department with a variety of research and data projects. Responsibilities will include assisting with data entry of Play for All Programs, completing research projects in the area of earned revenue sales, customer service surveys and supporting the members of Minnesota Children’s Museum as needed.

Museum Operations Intern (PDF)
Gain experience with the daily tasks that are essential to running a large customer service department in a non-profit organization. This position is responsible for assisting in the hiring of front line staff, running reports, updating spreadsheets and documents, and assisting in the documentation of new department policies and procedures.

Museum Programs Coordination Intern (PDF)
This position is responsible for assisting the Museum Programs Team with daily logistical functions necessary to run the museum’s full programming line-up. This may include completing a variety of administrative duties to support the Museum Programs department, assisting with scheduling, taking inventory and ordering supplies, collecting and calculating program data, assisting with program-related communications, coordinating logistics for special programs and activities and special projects to improve department processes. 1-2 interns needed.

Teaching Artist Video Intern (PDF)
This internship focuses on a State Arts Board funded Teaching Artist Series. Our new studio gallery will feature a local artist with experience leading arts workshops for audiences of diverse ages and creating beautiful mosaic art pieces. Working in partnership with other Museum departments, the goal of this internship is to document the series in video, photography and social media. This content will be used to promote the series with our community and multi-channel efforts.

Volunteer Services Intern (PDF)
This position is responsible for a variety of aspects of volunteer management including recruiting and screening, maintaining volunteer records, providing recognition, and ongoing communication via social media sites with current volunteers. This internship will also assist with volunteer orientation and training, event volunteer coordination, and program research. 1-2 interns needed.

Youth Development Intern (PDF)
Coach teen volunteers in their roles with young children and design activities with youth development practices in mind to help youth volunteers gain skills through their experiences at the museum. During the museum’s closure, the intern will conduct research and prepare recruitment, training, and youth development materials. When the museum reopens, the intern will provide positive guidance, performance feedback and role modeling while supervising youth volunteers on the floor.
