Special events and activities at Minnesota Children's Museum offer more ways to get your little ones laughing and learning. From child-friendly Valentine's parties to special guest Story Time readers, the Museum's special events keep your kids discovering new experiences year-round.

Children's Theatre Company Story Time: Mulan

March 20: 10:30 a.m.

Travel to the legendary days of ancient China in this action-packed adaptation of one of China's greatest stories. Join story tellers from Children's Theatre Company for a tale from Mulan. Visitors can also take home a free poster and parents can enter to win a family four pack of tickets to see the entire performance at Children's Theater Company.

Celebrate Spring with Will Hale at Your FREE Member Party!

March 27: 6 – 9 p.m.

Join us for a fun-filled evening celebrating our favorite people – members! Create a dinosaur headpiece and seed necklace, decorate a cookie and more! Will Hale (from Will Hale and the Tadpole Parade) will be on-hand to entertain children and adults. Explore the Museum's fun-filled galleries and enjoy a tasty snack.

The event is free for Museum members; guests are $6.95. All members and guests must RSVP. Passport Deluxe members can enjoy a FREE MEAL before the event from 5:15 – 6 p.m. Call 651-225-6035 to make your reservation.

Prehistoric Spring Break

March 27 – April 11

Lie down in a life-size dinosaur footprint and see how your body's size compares to the footprint of a might Troodon or fierce T-Rex. Join in a primitive Big Fun! around the dinosaur footprints and get creative with drop-in programs like Dinosaur STAMPEDE. Also, register to win one of two Spring Break packages that includes: a $100 gift certificate to Rosedale Mall, a one night stay at the Embassy Suites in downtown St. Paul and more!

 

Special Prehistoric Spring Break activities include:
Meet a Real Paleontologist!

March 27: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Get your dinosaur questions answered by Kristi Curry Rogers (a real paleontologist!), touch a real dinosaur egg and bone and discover little-known facts about some of the Earth's most mysterious creatures.

 

Meet Buddy from PBS' Dinosaur Train!
April 10, 11 and 13: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Visit the Museum April 10 – 11 and 13 and attend a special Story Time with Buddy, the curious preschool Tyrannosaurus Rex from Dinosaur Train, a PBS KIDS series that takes young viewers on fantastical voyages to meet, explore and have adventures with all kinds of dinosaurs and pre-historic creatures. Story Times with Buddy will be happening at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m .and 2:30 p.m.

Big Fun! with Upstream Arts

April 2: 6 – 7 p.m.

Join Upstream Arts in interactive theatre, music, visual arts, dance and poetry activities led by professional artists.
