A picture of a boy and girl sliding down the beaver slide. Discover Minnesota's Habitats Up–Close
Crawl through the big log in the forest and the giant anthill to come face-to-face with the queen ant. Enter the beaver den, don a costume and pretend to be a busy beaver. Exit down the beaver slide. At the stream, roll-up your sleeves and check–out the critters that live in water. Climb into a giant turtle shell and see how you look as one of the turtles. Challenge your balancing skills at the bouldering wall. Get up close with turtles and crawl under the 500–gallon aquarium. Visit the lodge, curl up with a good book by the stone fireplace, create a boisterous thunderstorm, or stop by the animal care facility and learn about snakes and other animals.

Earth World focuses on five environmental concepts: interconnectedness, cooperation, adaptation, life cycles and habitats. The gallery is made up of three Minnesota habitats: forests, prairies and wetlands. Earth World's immersive habitats consist of real and fabricated components that nurture an understanding of the natural world by encouraging thoughtful interactions.

Minnesota Children's Museum welcomes all visitors, and people with disabilities easily experience most areas of the Museum. Some areas may not look accessible at first glance, but can be enjoyed by all. In Earth World, be an ant! The anthill ramps and the “Queen's Chamber” are accessible for most wheelchairs. Help build a thunderstorm - the lodge and thunderclouds can be reached by taking the right–hand elevator to the fifth floor. In the wetlands, get your hands wet as you play in the stream. If you have questions or require assistance during your visit, please ask a Museum staff member wearing a purple vest.
